Hey, Black Seattle! is a cultural platform and community-rooted ecosystem that supports Black life throughout the Puget Sound.
Founded by Kiesha in 2023, it was created to challenge harmful narratives, highlight opportunities for connection, and foster a stronger sense of belonging for Black residents throughout the Greater Seattle area. In a region where Black presence is often overlooked or misunderstood, the platform exists to help people feel rooted, supported, and seen.
Through engaging live experiences, inclusive storytelling, and cultural infrastructure, Hey, Black Seattle! strengthens relationships across communities while amplifying Black-led and Black-focused organizations, and spaces. By operating as a reliable “digital hub” for the Black residents of the Pacific Northwest, Hey, Black Seattle supports their well-being through intentional use of media & technology for good.
