BLACK EXCELLENCE

I believe that one of the most life saving things you can do as a black person is reframe your definition of Black excellence. We push to get into rooms full of weapons and reach for trophies on the other side of barbed wire. and then we cheer for how gracefully we bleed. We “Black Excellence” our way into abusive Spaces - often without community support in place relative to the danger. And then we train our kids to desire this pain as the ultimate Win. Let’s write a new story of Black Excellence. One that includes black people having success that centers our wellbeing & joy.
